I am a first time waxer and did a ton of research online before committing to a wax company. I found the HK Wax Center Videos and I was hooked! I watched all of them! Kristen is so detailed and is a great teacher! I had previously been shaving and epilating, but was ready to see if waxing was the be all end all. After finally taking the plunge and buying the Mermaid Wax starter kit, It came in the mail quickly. It took 3 days to get from Texas to Ohio. As excited as I was to immediately dive right in, it took me awhile to get started as I had to enlist some help. I enlisted my poor husband who I made study Kristen’s videos in order to ensure proper wax technique, consistency, how to make perfect strips, pull correctly, etc, etc. He dove in with the gusto of a Marine going into combat (although the subject matter is one of his specialties) and performed a full Brazilian on me flawlessly! I was shocked! The wax was beautiful! It was glittery even without using the glitter bomb, it melted beautifully, went on smoothly, evenly and pulled perfectly, and most importantly, it got all the hairs! He gave the experience a 10/10 and said he felt laying the strips on a person was easier then on the silicone mat. He even did some strips on his leg first just to see how painful (or as he found not painful) it was going to be. So if you are a first timer like me, I would say go for it! It’s well worth it! I highly recommend getting the kit! I did also purchase the PB Vanish that Kristen recommended in her videos as well as Satin Smooth pre wax cleanser and post wax aloe (this will have to do until Kristen comes out with her Mermaid wax products…hunt hint). I didn’t see a need for the wax remover I bought because the Mermaid wax didn’t leave any residue behind which is another huge bonus! One final point which is the only negative (which the company turned right back into a positive). The silicone mat arrived stuck together where the logo was placed, which caused the mat to rip. I emailed the company with pictures of the damage on a Sunday evening. When I checked my email on Monday morning, I had a response apologizing profusely and a second email with an order placed with a replacement mat shipping to my house! (How’s that for excellent customer service?!?!?). So I can honestly say I will be a lifelong Mermaid Wax Customer!!!

I forget how I stumbled upon Mermaid Wax, but I’m so thankful I did. I have the faintest baby hairs on my legs, and other waxes couldn’t pick them up, Mermaid Wax did. Mermaid worked amazing on my bikini area, no left over residue or irritation. Highly recommend!
I personally wouldnt buy this package. They are correct. The wax warmer is not even really usable. Just get the wax and a professional pot. The wax is AMAZING!

If you're like me, you got here after having a couple incredibly unpleasant allergic reactions to every other wax brand, stumbled upon Mermaid Wax on reddit, and are now reading reviews deciding if you should pull the trigger. I'm here to tell you YES, this is the only wax you'll ever need. Truly. If you've got sensitive, allergy prone skin, this is the brand for you. I'm a loyalist to Aurora, in part because it's color additive free (minus the mica), partially because it swirls around so pretty, and definitely in part that it makes it so easy to see the hairs when laying it down AND pulling it up. Mermaid Wax has definitely been the most forgiving in terms of stretch time, but also the best at getting those short short hairs too. Yes- they're pricey versus some other brands, but out of everything I've tried, it truly stands above the rest and makes up for the cost difference in quality. Every interaction I've had with staff has been so kind, informative, and helpful too!
It was the least irritating and least painful wax I have ever used. My skin was not even pink.
The wax kit warmer is non functional. I realize it explicitly states that it is low quality but I would expect it to at least melt the beads. Its been an hour and they're still hard, I can touch the pot with my hands and its barely hot. would not recommend to anyone.
I stumbled upon the idea of home waxing due to the original OG Mermaid wax videos on YouTube and I decided to give it a shot. This was sometime back, I tried other waxes due to convenience and pricing but none of them have the quality of mermaid max and I will no longer make any exceptions. I absolutely love the product!!!

Wax is too runny and the wax warmer doesn't work at all
I purchased hard wax from other brands and was very disappointed. I found Mermaid Wax and purchased the starter kit. It was amazing, it does not hurt. I do believe is very good quality.

I’m a newbie waxing at home and I did a lot of homework to find the best wax products and techniques. Mermaid wax has the most helpful tutorial videos out there amd along with the product, gave me the best results I’ve ever experienced, even at a salon! They really made it an easy and fun experience. I can’t wait to do other areas and try some of the other fun waxes they have to offer. I got the aurora with a fun glitter bomb and it was awesome for my facial hair! Thank you Mermaid Wax!!!!

Really like the hard wax I bought; it melts well, is a gorgeous color (Siren), and is super easy to use. I am planning on getting a better wax melter so I have better control of the wax thickness. I am also looking forward to reading the blog posts so I can wax more efficiently, but I'll never go back to shaving. Thanks for a great product!
