Mermaid Wax does not currently sell any products containing Hazardous Chemicals.

A Safety Data Sheet or SDS, often referred to as Material Safety Data Sheet or MSDS is defined by OSHA as:

"The Hazard Communication Standard (HCS)
(29 CFR 1910.1200(g)), revised in 2012, requires

that the chemical manufacturer, distributor,

or importer provide Safety Data Sheets

(SDSs) (formerly MSDSs or Material Safety

Data Sheets) for each hazardous chemical

to downstream users to communicate

information on these hazards. The information

contained in the SDS is largely the same as

the MSDS, except now the SDSs are required

to be presented in a consistent user-friendly,

16-section format."

Hair Removal Wax is not considered a chemical, by definition. There is nothing that can be considered hazardous contained within. In no way does the Federal HCS apply to any of our current products.

Our products present no known risk by contact with skin or inhaling. Our products are for professional use only and are not be ingested.

To further understand what a SDS or MSDS is, please refer to the exact explanation from OSHA.

The MSDS is only required for Hazardous Chemicals, read here.

Any State, County, or Municipal government regulation that you feel requires MSDS for hard wax is a misinterpretation.

We are aware of State of New Hampshire OFFICE OF PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION
DIVISION OF LICENSING AND BOARD ADMINISTRATION requirements of SDS to include hair removal wax and encourage them to revisit their illogical requirement and retrain their staff. Until then please feel free to enjoy one of the other amazing waxes offered in New Hampshire with an SDS full of "n/a."
