Practice Waxing + Save Wax = Save $$
Your Mermaid Mat is the best way to save money while practicing your wax strips. Use this sterile surface to practice laying strips so that you can reuse your precious hard wax. Great for beginners & seasoned pros alike. Spray a little cleanser on the surface and ensure it's dry then spread your wax across it to practice. Once it cools/hardens you can remove the strip & place back in your warmer. As always remember to wear gloves to keep the wax sterile. The Mermaid Mat can be draped over your arm, leg and more to get the feel for a curved surface and correct placement of your strips. Practice clean edges and perfect your wax "lip" without the wasting your hard wax.
Sterile, Non-Slip Surface
The Mermaid Mat can also be used to place your tools ensuring they remain on a non-slip, sterile surface. Then use your mat to pick up and move all tools at once. The Mermaid Mat can be used as a slide proof surface for your smaller warmers. This will help hold the warmer still while stiring!

Heat up the wax until the consistency is creamy such as honey or molasses (normally takes about 20-30 minutes depending on the size of warmer).
Test temperature of wax on the inside of your wrist.
Always use a new spatula for each application -NO DOUBLE DIPPING! Using the edge of a wax spatula, apply a thin layer of wax in the direction of the hair growth using smooth and firm pressure.
Wait a couple of seconds for the wax to cool. Stretch the skin tight during removal. Remove wax in one quick, swift motion parallel to the surface of the skin in the opposite direction of the hair growth.
Repeat as needed.
Note: Normally only one application is needed for each area. If necessary, a cleanup strip should remove any "stragglers" left behind. Rarely will you need to use a third application over the same area if you're using the wax properly. We have a variety of online training or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more help.
