We expressly disclose this is NOT a quality wax warmer. This is the least expensive warmer found on the market (our research) If your gift doesn't work, we apologize, but do not ask for another gift as we will not accommodate.

Use

Pour wax beads into a professional wax warmer.
Heat up the wax until the consistency is creamy such as honey or molasses (normally takes about 20-30 minutes depending on the size of warmer).
Test temperature of wax on the inside of your wrist.
Always use a new spatula for each application -NO DOUBLE DIPPING! Using the edge of a wax spatula, apply a thin layer of wax in the direction of the hair growth using smooth and firm pressure.
Wait a couple of seconds for the wax to cool. Stretch the skin tight during removal. Remove wax in one quick, swift motion parallel to the surface of the skin in the opposite direction of the hair growth.
Repeat as needed.

Note: Normally only one application is needed for each area. If necessary, a cleanup strip should remove any "stragglers" left behind. Rarely will you need to use a third application over the same area if you're using the wax properly. We have a variety of online training or email support@mermaidwax.com for more help.

Some neon waxes can get "burned." The uv brighteners & colorant will turn to clear if this wax is burned. Do not turn your pot all the way up and leave it! And I would not leave your warmer on overnight, ever. Definitely not with neon waxes. The wax itself will be perfectly fine, just clear.

I am a first time waxer and did a ton of research online before committing to a wax company. I found the HK Wax Center Videos and I was hooked! I watched all of them! Kristen is so detailed and is a great teacher! I had previously been shaving and epilating, but was ready to see if waxing was the be all end all. After finally taking the plunge and buying the Mermaid Wax starter kit, It came in the mail quickly. It took 3 days to get from Texas to Ohio. As excited as I was to immediately dive right in, it took me awhile to get started as I had to enlist some help. I enlisted my poor husband who I made study Kristen’s videos in order to ensure proper wax technique, consistency, how to make perfect strips, pull correctly, etc, etc. He dove in with the gusto of a Marine going into combat (although the subject matter is one of his specialties) and performed a full Brazilian on me flawlessly! I was shocked! The wax was beautiful! It was glittery even without using the glitter bomb, it melted beautifully, went on smoothly, evenly and pulled perfectly, and most importantly, it got all the hairs! He gave the experience a 10/10 and said he felt laying the strips on a person was easier then on the silicone mat. He even did some strips on his leg first just to see how painful (or as he found not painful) it was going to be. So if you are a first timer like me, I would say go for it! It’s well worth it! I highly recommend getting the kit! I did also purchase the PB Vanish that Kristen recommended in her videos as well as Satin Smooth pre wax cleanser and post wax aloe (this will have to do until Kristen comes out with her Mermaid wax products…hunt hint). I didn’t see a need for the wax remover I bought because the Mermaid wax didn’t leave any residue behind which is another huge bonus! One final point which is the only negative (which the company turned right back into a positive). The silicone mat arrived stuck together where the logo was placed, which caused the mat to rip. I emailed the company with pictures of the damage on a Sunday evening. When I checked my email on Monday morning, I had a response apologizing profusely and a second email with an order placed with a replacement mat shipping to my house! (How’s that for excellent customer service?!?!?). So I can honestly say I will be a lifelong Mermaid Wax Customer!!!

Really like the hard wax I bought; it melts well, is a gorgeous color (Siren), and is super easy to use. I am planning on getting a better wax melter so I have better control of the wax thickness.
