I am thrilled by my purchase of the little Aurora Starter Kit. Been waxing for about 15 years and I’ve worked at the European Wax Center for 6, had lots of different experiences with different types of wax, and I am SO IMPRESSED by the Aurora! I love how it Mets to clear and goes on so smooth, excellent wax for training brand new esthi’s with, because you can show them how to laminate the hair, and when this wax is ready to pull, it turns white/opaque. Lifts the hair almost effortlessly, and on a super hair first time client, 98% of the hair came up with that first strip. I will 100% try and buy more from this company, and definitely recommend. Also, the fact that it’s so visually beautiful makes the clients super interested in their treatment! I’m hoping to see some post-waxing products from y’all for back bar and retail.

I love my starter kit! I have used it twice, and each time my hair has come up with no problem, even better than when I go to a wax center. I only have to do one main strip followed by a clean-up strip. while my waxer usually does three or four.
It is so easy to use, and the starter kit is the perfect size for in-home waxing. I bought it so I could wax my facial hair more frequently than my once every 4-week body regimen at the wax center. The wax works so well and is so easy, I plan to begin waxing other areas of my body, as well.
I highly recommend Mermaid Wax.

i never used hard wax because it always broke on me… having to pick broken pieces of wax off a client is… embarassing! :( i’ve used 3 brands prior to this brand, and all 3 have been disappointing. this wax - specifically the SIGNATURE SERIES is an absolute game changer… idk how they make it but it is magic wax, it is “elasticy” and SO easy to work with! it doesn’t leave ANY wax behind; and i love that when i’m done with a client, it doesn’t even look like they’ve just been waxed - no redness, no irritation. this will be my new in studio wax! The wax is really great. The free warmer is junk. It won’t shut off unless I unplug it. It even boils the wax in the lowest setting and in the off position. Yowch

Way too expensive for wax in my opinion. It was nice and worked well but I don’t need pretty wax for just throwing out? Colors are nice but glitter? Anyways I like the wax in an of itself but the warmer that came with never worked and when I mentioned I was told they were just getting rid of them cause they were so cheaply made. Thanks for nothing? I would of never paid that much for just wax, was hoping for the warmer. Won’t be shopping here again unfortunately.

I like the wax. Never have I ever used hard wax before so this is my first time ever using it. I will definitely use it again. It took some getting used to being my first time waxing at home. I don’t care for the wax warmer that it came with because I kept having to turn it on and off just to keep the consistency of the wax where it should be along with the temperature. The heating element in it is not the best. Even just keeping it on low is too hot. Definitely recommend practicing on the mat before trying to wax yourself if you’ve never used hard wax before.

The wax is great. It glides on smoothly and easy to control, and most importantly GRIPS THAT HAIR. I don't feel the bundle is worth the value when you can buy 2lbs of wax for the same price and the only extras are a mat and warmer, that's my own mistake though. However, I am not satisfied with the warmer. It is WAY too hot, even on the lowest possible setting, my wax is so hot it turns to a water consistency. I ended up having to buy a new warmer because turning it off and on to maintain a good temp is super inconvenient.

I have previously purchased hard wax beads from Amazon. They didn’t stick to any of my eyebrow hairs properly. I was having to tweeze all my unwanted hair. I tried Mermaid wax and it got ALL the hairs, even my little blonde hairs. I highly recommend Mermaid Wax and this kit. The kit was well worth the money.

Loved the starter kit I received! Very easy to use. First wax I have ever used that was not painful. Other waxes I have tried from Walmart have literally scarred me! I would recommend getting more sticks, especially of all sizes. You will need smaller ones for eyebrows.

I am VERY impressed. I have been getting waxed in a salon for several months and decided to buy the home kit with the Calypso wax. I watched her how-to videos beforehand and the Calypso wax was actually LESS irritating to my skin than my salon experience. TOTALLY worth it. Got all the hair with very little skin irritation. I followed directions from an HK Wax Center video ATX and the results were surprisingly good! With a little practice I think waxing at home will be quite efficient. I am glad to have this as a cheaper option to going to the salon. And I am very glad it’s so pretty and comes with so many good stickers! Love the mermaids!

The wax is good. Takes some time to get used to working with the hard wax. Im not a hard wax fan. I do love the soft wax though. The wax warmer is very low quality. I am a bit shocked and disappointed in that.

I loved how the package came. I opened the box and just saw a cute box. Opened that cute box and I had a warmer my beads a cauuuuuuute mat and gloves an wooden sticks. I love the wax but the warmer is not great. The knob does not line up with the on, off, heat level guide. My husband took the knob off to try to put it on where it will line up but the problem is the stem not the plastic knob. When it is oh high it points to off, when I put it on low it turns off, so it is hard to gauge the settings.

No skin irritation! East to use! I’ve been getting my eyebrows waxed for 20 years. I breakout and get some type of skin irritation every time. Not with Mermaid! I’ve never used an at home wax kit before Mermaid. It was easy and has everything you need. My advise is take your time, follow all the instructions they give you, and go for it.

I really do like the starter kit. I would’ve liked if there was an instruction manual on waxing, especially with the starter kit. The YouTube videos are helpful but a little manual or booklet would’ve been a great added touch to the starter kit, especially since it is a starter kit.

This kit is not worth the price. The wax warmer turns off right after the mid mark so the wax is either hot or you have to keep turning it on and off to get the right consistency. I reached out to the company and was told the wax warmer is considered a “free gift” so you are paying $80 or like $60 with the discount for just the wax because they list the mat, gloves and sticks as a gift too. I didn’t realize the wax warmer would be that poor of quality so you are better off just buying the wax and get a higher quality warmer for the price of this kit. The wax is pretty good though but I’m sure I’ll really get the full affect once I get a good warmer. Just don’t waste your money on this kit and buy just the wax.

This is my 1st experience with a hard wax. Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous. I’m used to working with strips. This wax is so smooth it glides on. Much more gentle on the skin. And it shimmers and glitters. What more could I want. I’m sorry I didn’t snap a photo.

It’s a great kit for those first starting out. The silicone mat is definitely one of my favorite things beside the wax of course. It helps keep things neat and organized. It’s also a great area to practice laying my strips. I love it lots.

Busy working mom who’s hair grows fast. I really don’t have time to go to the salon and get waxed as often as I need to. I really love this product for two reasons. No. 1, I’m not an expert at waxing so I find the Mermaid wax tutorials very helpful and supportive. She really taught me how to wax all of the areas I was interested. No. 2, it fuckin works. The warmer works really well and as long as I apply and remove the wax in the correct direction, it works. I haven’t even gone through the 1 lb bag it comes with it, and I’ve already used it twice: face, under arms, and bikini wax. I love Electra wax, and I can’t wait to try Sirena.

This wax starter kit is amazing. It like my own little salon. I feel so professional. I love the rubber mat! You can put your stick down that was just covered in wax and hit doesn’t stick to the mat! That blew my mind. The warmer has multiple settings and I always felt that it either got too hot or not hot enough so I had to constantly adjust the settings. Included in the set up is a bag with several sticks and gloves. Overall, The starter kit is the bees nees!

It could be because I’m still learning but the Electra wax did seem to grab my hair like I thought. However, my friend has coarser hair and it snatched all of hers! I’d purchase Mermaid again, just maybe a different type.

The wax - gets 5 stars - the warmer 3. So I just did 4 - I LOVE THE WAX. Best I have ever used so far!!! So glad I stumbled across this brand!!! The warmer just doesn't stay a good temperature. It seems to either be to hot or not hot enough... if you put it on medium once it melts the machine just shuts off and my wax gets hard which is frustrating when I have a whole day of waxing clients.... I am saving for a larger warmer through y'all though so hopefully soon I can make that happen!
